Publish in a newspaper

Elida Hilario, 59, of Big Spring, TX went to be with the Lord on September 11th, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Lamesa, Texas, on July 8th, 1966, to Leonides Cortez Sr. and Maria Louisa Martinez.

Her greatest joy was her family and her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she lovingly called her babies. She loved cooking, whether indoors or outside, and cherished every chance to share a meal surrounded by those she loved. She truly enjoyed "living her best life" each day, filling it with family, friends, music, and good food. She also had a passion for the outdoors and found joy in tending to her many plants. As she often reminded those around her, "Life is too short, not to live your best life."

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Johnny and Maria Louisa Martinez of Big Spring. TX. She is survived by her husband, Alfredo Hilario Sr. She is also survived by 2 daughters, Amanda Delgado of Big Spring, TX and Lee and Maria Gonzales of Abilene, TX and 2 sons Jesse and Katie Delgado of Coahoma, TX and AJ and Chicka Hilario of Lamesa, TX. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by 4 brothers, Joe Cortez Sr. (Elvia) of Stanton, TX, Lee Cortez Jr. of Lamesa, TX, Pedro Flores (Gina) of Lamesa, TX, Jorge Flores (Arielle) of Odessa, TX and 3 sisters, Irma Moralez (Nune) of Big Spring, TX, Christina Ontiveros (Manuel Sr.) of Big Spring, TX and Dalia Cortez of Lamesa, TX. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonides Cortez Sr.

The viewing will be held at Myers and Smith Funeral Home on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Last viewing will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Myers and Smith followed by the celebration service at Family Faith Center at 10:00 a.m. then proceed to her final resting place at Mount Olive Cemetery.
