Elinor Rose Terranova Fitch

Born December 9, 1948 – Passed August 20, 2025

Elinor Rose Terranova Fitch passed away on August 20, 2025, at the age of 76. Elinor was born

and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances, and her

brother, Frank, with whom she is now joyfully reunited.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her two daughters, Tina Welty and

Tonya Rodriguez, her sons-in-law, Donald & Dwayne, her beloved granddaughters, Gabrielle

Welty Ball and Kathryn "KK" Welty, and her grandson-in-law, Mason Ball, who were truly the

loves of her life.

From the moment her granddaughters were born, Elinor dedicated herself to them with boundless

love. She spent countless days at Lafreniere Park, feeding the ducks, riding the carousel, and

going on long walks, always making sure her granddaughters were smiling. At home, she created

a world of fun- dressing up, playing Rummy, and letting them swim.

Elinor loved caring for her granddaughters, picking them up from school and watching over

them until their mother came home. She was always there to help Tina-not only around the

house and with the family dogs, but also with the family business. She helped with paperwork,

kept supplies stocked, mailed packages, laundered the linens, and proudly supported every social

media post. Elinor's greatest pride was her family. They were the joy of her heart and the center

of her world.

Elinor's love for animals was lifelong and deeply felt, and it was returned in kind. She was rarely

without the company of dogs and cats, especially her beloved Dalmatian, Ellie, whom she spoke

of fondly throughout her life. Animals seemed to sense her gentle spirit and were naturally drawn

to her. Later, she formed a special bond with Tina's chihuahua, Maggie, who adored Elinor just

as much and was lovingly embraced as her "third granddaughter."

She cherished the small delicacies of life. She found joy in laughter, sharing meals of her favorite

foods (especially fried shrimp), celebrating birthdays-especially her own-and simply being in

the presence of her family. She was always fully present for the people she loved, never missing

a Grandparents' Day, a sporting event, a graduation, or any special moment. Those simple

moments, filled with love, were all she ever needed. Her family promises to continue

celebrating her birthday every year, keeping her spirit alive in love and laughter.

Elinor is deeply loved, and she will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, 1600

N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM,

followed by the service at 12:30 PM. Her favorite foods will be served during the visitation.
