Elinor Gray Obituary

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday March 29th, 2024, at Creekside Church in Urbandale, visitation will be held on Thursday March 28th from 5-7 pm at Iles-Westover Chapel, her burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery.
Elinor was born on December 19th, 1931, in Union, Iowa to Edward and Genevieve (Marshall) Packer.
She graduated from Union High School in 1949 then moved to Des Moines for work. In July of 1956 she was united in marriage to Thomas Gray in Des Moines. They enjoyed many friends and travels until his passing in 2016. For many years Elinor enjoyed working for the Des Moines Public Schools in the hot lunch program. At home, she always welcomed visitors and "shook the fridge" to make sure no one went hungry. Elinor was a longtime member of the Creekside Church where she made many lifelong friends.
Elinor is survived by her 2 sons David (Linda) Gray of Ankeny, & Daniel (Renea) Gray of Des Moines, along with 6 grandchildren Coralynn Gray, Andrew Gray, Aaron Gray, Parker (Liz) Gray, Megan (Zach) Elsbecker, Kylie (Logan) LeTellier and one great grandson Trevor Elsbecker. She was preceded in death by her husband and 4 sisters.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Emmaus Bible College or Willowbrook Bible Camp.
