Elio Iodice Obituary
1934 - 2025
Elio Iodice, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the age of 90. He was born October 13, 1934 to Gennaro and Antonia (nee Musco) in Ponza, Italy.
Elio's greatest love was his family. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Marjorie, and proudly raised five children. He cherished his role as a grandfather to seven adoring grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Elio, affectionately known as Papa, had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel special, leaving a lasting impact through his stories, laughter, and wisdom. His passion for family was evident in everything he did, from cooking with love to nurturing his garden. He relished spending time outdoors and playing the lotto. A true sports fan, especially of horse racing, he inspired those around him with his captivating tales of his childhood in Italy, his journey to New York, and his experiences as a chef. His humility and selflessness shone through in his countless sacrifices for his family. His spirit will endure through the stories we share, the cherished traditions we uphold, and the love we continue to nurture as a family.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (nee: Labiak), of 65 years; his children, Suzanne, Jacqueline, Laureen (John), Anita (John), and Stephen (Susan); his grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan (Elisa), Lee (Alyssa), Nicholas (Kylie), Jill (Bill), Antonio, and Julian; and his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ford, Blake, Gavin, and Eloise.
"Celebration of Life" will be held on Thursday – April 10, 2025. Instate at 9:00am until time of Memorial Mass at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake Street, (off Mack Avenue, South of 9 Mile Road) St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48080 with Fr. Rich Bartoszek.

To the Iodice Family - We were blessed with the opportunity to visit with Elio at some very fun events. He was such a gentleman with a kind soul...his smile brought pure joy to this world. He would just beam with pride sitting next to Marge while watching his family dance and enjoy his pasta!

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Iodice in person, but was able to find that connection through his son Steve during our many conversations. We shared stories of cooking, our proud Italian heritage, looking at old photos, and the love of our families. What a legacy he is leaving. May he forever rest in peace.
