Elise Mathews Obituary

Elise was born in Orlando, Florida, to the late Sebrone L. Denson and Yuda J. Denson. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to everyone she met. Most of all she was a faithful child of God. She was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she sang and played bass in the choir. Her great musical talent and joyful spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Malachi and Inez Denson, and Dewey and Myrtle Palmer; her father, Sebrone Denson, and nephew, Jeffrey Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, "Archie" Dwane Mathews; son, Archie "Dwane" Mathews II; daughter, Stephanie (Brian) Goins; grandson, Bryson (Sarah) Goins; great granddaughter, Ember Goins; mother, Yuda J. Denson; sister, Sabrina Blaskey; brother, Sebrone (Tracy) Denson II; nephews, Donny Mitchell and Sebrone "Denny" Denson III.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 3347 Franklin Pike, Lewisburg, TN 37091, starting at 1:00 pm and will continue until the memorial service begins at 2:00 pm.
London Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
