Eliza Macapobre Simsuangco

Eliza was a talented nurse who was very generous, creative, religious, and had a strong sense of integrity. She was adventurous in loving to travel, and inquisitive in wanting to learn new skills.

On Thursday, April 24, 2025, Eliza "Elsie" Macapobre Simsuangco of Trabuco Canyon, California, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 years after a 3-year-long battle with Cancer.

Eliza was born on October 21, 1950, in Manila, Philippines, the only child of Martin and Angela Macapobre.

She grew up in Manila with 3 half-brothers and 1 half-sister.

She was accepted into nursing school at the Chinese General Hospital and graduated in 1972. Spending the next year at Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center working as a nurse in many different fields.

She immigrated to the United States in 1974 and worked as an ICU nurse at Tyler Medical Center in Tyler, Texas, before moving to California in February 1976. In February 1976, she took a position at Centinela Hospital as a critical care nurse and retired in 2020, carrying out God's work in caring for many individuals during her career of 52 years.

She married Edgar Simsuangco on December 31, 1977, and raised 2 children in Harbor City, California, before moving to Trabuco Canyon, California, in 1989.

She was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Angela, and her half-brothers, Alfredo and Rogelio. She is survived by her husband Edgar, two children, Kevin and Angela, four grandchildren, Kenneth, Kelvin, Bella, and Theodore, and many family and friends.

Our Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and loving friend will be missed.
