Elizabeth Alsbrooks Obituary

Born December 14, 1930, in Marion County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel P. Florence and the late Ruth Elizabeth Perritt Florence. She was a member of Sumter Calvary Church of the Nazarene where she served as a Sunday School teacher for over 45 years.
Survivors include three sons, Tim Alsbrooks (Betty) of Sumter, Kevin Alsbrooks of Summerton, and Rev. Gregg Alsbrooks (Dodi) of Bel Air, MD; ten grandchildren, Alison, Brittony, Geran, Hayley, Brienne, Alycia, Ashton, Grant, Abigail, and Haven; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Geoffrey Alsbrooks, daughter-in-law, Harper Alsbrooks, brother, Larry Florence, and sister, Margaret Saunders.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday at Sumter Calvary Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Gregg Alsbrooks and the Rev. Arthur Sharpe officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday at Sumter Calvary Church of the Nazarene.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sumter Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 4235 Nazarene Church Rd., Sumter, SC 29154.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.

Tim, Kevin, Gregg, and families, I have sweet memories of Aunt Betty from my early years in Sumter. She was a kind and beautiful woman. I visited her a couple of years ago at Lake Marion with my sisters Bonnie and Bess, and we all sat in the day room singing, while Aunt Katie played the piano. My last memory of Aunt Betty is of her sweet hug and beautiful smile that day as we were saying goodbye. May your memories of her bring sunshine into your heart on days when you miss her most.
