Elizabeth “Beth” O’Day Baldree, 74, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.
A memorial service to honor Beth’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 11th at Centenary United Methodist Church in New Bern, officiated by Rev. Vann Spivey and Rev. Linda Kelly. A reception will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Beth was born on October 29, 1951, in Tarboro, NC, to the late James Patrick O’Day and Marguerite Rouse O’Day. A graduate of Tarboro High School, Beth began her career as a bookkeeper at the Goodyear Store in Tarboro.
In 1974 Beth married her sweetheart, Gary Baldree, together, they built a beautiful life and raised a loving family. Well known in the Craven County community, Beth and Gary opened Baldree’s Tire, a place she dearly loved and where she made lasting friendships over the years.
A beautiful Christian woman, Beth was a devoted and faithful member of Centenary United Methodist Church since 1977. She was active in many areas of church life and was especially committed to her prayer group, where her gentle spirit and heartfelt faith were a blessing to many.
Beth and Gary enjoyed traveling together, creating cherished memories over the years. Beth loved to cook and was known for her warm hospitality, always ready to entertain and celebrate with friends. She found joy in knitting and reading, and she had a special love for the Christmas season. Decorating for the holidays was one of her greatest pleasures, and she was especially grateful to have been able to decorate for this year’s festivities with her family.
More than anything, Beth loved her family dearly. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren who were the joy of her heart.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 51 years, Gary Howard Baldree Sr.; daughters, Denise Elizabeth Baldree of Morehead City, NC and Emily Baldree Weller (Michael Weller) of Cary, NC; son, Gary Howard Baldree Jr. (Rebekah Basnett Baldree) of Havelock, NC; and grandchildren, Gary Howard Baldree III (Amber Nichol), Thomas Luke Baldree, and Samuel Taylor Baldree, all of Havelock.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church P.O. Box 1388, New Bern, NC 28563 or the Edward and Versie Baldree Endowment at Craven Community College, 800 College Court, New Bern, NC 28562.
