Elizabeth Antoinette Comstock, age 78, of Sopchoppy passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at her home after an extended illness. She was born on April 30, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York to Anthony and Catherine (Calendriello) Scalzo. She would attend Queens College for some time and worked in secretarial roles for many years, for Social Security, the Defense Department, as well as Veterans Affairs.

Elizabeth was a talented cook and loved listening to music and shopping. Above all else, Elizabeth cherished her grandkids and watching them grow up and supporting them along the way. She enjoyed attending church and had been a resident of Wakulla county since 2009.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves behind a daughter, Sarah (Erik Howard) Laughton of Panacea; grandkids, Isabella and Isaiah Laughton and Eliana Howard; brother, Gregory (Patricia) Scalzo of Madison, Connecticut; niece and nephews, Patricia (Billy) Orris, Gregory (Michelle) Scalzo III, Dr. Francis-David Scalzo all of Madison, Connecticut.

Funeral services to honor Elizabeth’s life will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Christian Worship Center with Pastor Kenneth Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Panacea Park Cemetery.

The staff of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home is honored to serve the Comstock family during their time of loss.
