Elizabeth Ann (Williams) Conger passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born in Abilene, Texas, on June 15, 1945, to Raymond Fred Williams and Eula Sides, Elizabeth grew up with a love of learning and music that would define her life's work. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in Education and went on to dedicate more than 30 years to Snyder ISD, where she was cherished as a talented and caring elementary school teacher. Her kindness, creativity, and patience inspired generations of students.
Beyond the classroom, Elizabeth was an accomplished organist and pianist who served faithfully for decades at the First Christian Church. She was also a gifted writer, publishing educational articles and children's fiction that reflected her joy in teaching and storytelling. Her many interests included reading, gardening, and running her own craft business, Bangles and Tangles.
Above all, Elizabeth's love for her family, friends, and students was unwavering. Elizabeth is survived by her son, John Conger, who cared for her in her final years as she bravely navigated dementia; her brother, Fred Williams; her nieces and nephew, Kathy Williams, Kris Munro (Dave), Dan Williams (Cyndi); and her four great nephews.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Amedisys Hospice of Temple, Right at Home of Temple, Stoney Brook Memory Care of Belton, and The Meadows of Gatesville for their compassionate care and support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, at 1:00 PM at Hewett-Arney Chapel, 14 W. Barton Avenue, Temple, Texas. The service will also be streamed for those unable to attend in person.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or planting a tree in Elizabeth's memory.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with these arrangements.
