Elizabeth Ann Covert of Trumansburg passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Cayuga Ridge Nursing Facility at the age of 90.
For over 60 years, Betty worked as a waitress at the Shady Inn and Falls Tavern in Trumansburg, where she cultivated a reputation for being exceptionally personable. Her customers became like family, reflecting the warmth and compassion she extended to everyone around her.
Betty had a deep love for country music and dogs with both interests bringing her much joy.
Betty is survived by her sons, Frank Palmer, Roy (Lisa) Palmer, and Kenneth Herman; her grandchildren, Brandon Palmer, Roy Palmer Jr., Ryan Little, Shelby Augustine White, Digger, and Michelle Herman Perry; her great-grandchildren, Roy Joseph Palmer and Ever White; and her niece, Peggy Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth (Workman) Theetge; and sister, Jean Greene.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.
The family asks those that would like to make a contribution in her name to kindly consider Stay Wild Animal Rescue in Trumansburg.
