Elizabeth Ann Coyne "Liz" passed away October 7th, 2023 surrounded by her children and siblings at her Wyckoff New Jersey home. Liz was the beloved wife of Jerry of fifty-three years who pre-deceased her in 2014. She was a wonderful and loving mother to Suzanne (Sean), Jerry Jr. (Vicky), Jim (Pam), and Lizanne. Her pride and joy were her nine grandchildren Jerry III, Jimmy, William, Patrick, Andrew, Elizabeth, Daniel, Molly, and Luke.
Liz was a proud first-generation Irish American born in New York City on February 29th, 1940 to Delia (nee Duggan) and James Hynes. Liz grew up in the Bronx with her younger sister Mary and brother Tom and was pre-deceased by her older brother James. She was a parishioner of St. Luke's Parish, graduated from St. Jean Baptiste High School in New York City, and attended Hunter College and St. John University.
Liz was the consummate "executive wife" partnering with Jerry as they moved to various states landing ultimately in Wyckoff, NJ in 1979 where she also became a parishioner of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Liz enjoyed a 15+ year successful career in Real Estate. She tapped into her own experience as a parent and helped many families locate wonderful homes all around Bergen County.
Liz especially loved celebrating family birthdays and the Christmas Holidays orchestrating the annual Coyne Family Christmas Eve Dinner and Talent Show featuring her nine grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family and friends as well as hosting card nights.
The Coyne family will receive family and friends at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, 10:00am at St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481 with Internment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

In memory of Liz Coyne, a soul so bright,
With smiles and cheer, she brought us light.
An Irish blessing in every way,
She brightened each and every day.

A proud IBMer, she shone so high,
Reaching for stars up in the sky.
But more than that, she gave her heart,
To family and friends, she played her part.

Compassion, unconditional and pure,
A love that always would endure.
Like the rainbow's vibrant connection,
She spread love, with no exception.

Collecting rooster egg items, her delight,
In her world, a joyful, colorful sight.
Playing Mother to all she'd known,
Her love and care, forever shown.

Though she's gone, her spirit lives on,
In the hearts of those she touched, she's never gone.
Liz Coyne, a name we'll always say,
In our memories, forever to stay.
