Elizabeth Anne Dickey, age 82, of Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Alice Lorraine Care Center, surrounded by love.
Born on November 27, 1942, in Monroe, Elizabeth was the cherished daughter of Albert G. and Mary (Kovacevic) Krzyston. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1960 and soon after married Dan D. Dickey on July 21, 1961. Together, they built a beautiful life and celebrated 50 years of marriage before Dan's passing in 2012.
Elizabeth dedicated over three decades of service to the City of Monroe as the elected City Clerk/Treasurer, faithfully serving six terms before retiring in January 1998. Her leadership extended beyond city hall-she proudly served as President of the Michigan Municipal Treasurer's Association from 1993 to 1994, earning the respect and admiration of her peers.
Known for her vibrant spirit and zest for life, Elizabeth embraced every moment with joy and curiosity. She loved traveling, treasure-hunting in resale shops like the Damascus House, and sharing laughter over coffee with dear friends, including her fellow city retirees Larry, Andy, and Sherry Hudson.
Above all, Elizabeth was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and creating lasting traditions. She poured love into every meal she cooked and every gathering she hosted, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion.
She is survived by her three daughters: Mary Kay (Keith Tyler) Pfund of Allen Park, Laura Dickey of Belleville, and Rebecca (Mike) Roberts of Monroe; her siblings Albert (Carol) Krzyston and Suzanne (Emre) Guzelaydin; eight grandchildren-Lauren, Lindsey, Alexa, Chantelle, Deidre, Joshua, Michaela, and Sydney-and six great-grandchildren who will carry her love forward.
Elizabeth is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Dan and her parents, Albert and Mary.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
