Elizabeth Sophie Dirgo

1931 - 2021

Elizabeth Sophie (Conashevick) Dirgo, 90, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Cromwell, CT. She was born on March 30, 1931 in Hartford, CT to Michael and Sophie (Wizerich) Conashevick and was one of seven children. She lived in Rocky Hill, CT all of her life. She married Andrew Dirgo on November 8, 1958 in Rocky Hill, CT, and together they raised two children. Elizabeth made raviolis with her sister Anna at the Ravioli Kitchen in Hartford, CT. She also provided care for two of her nieces and both grandchildren. Elizabeth enjoyed cooking and baking and never was afraid to try new recipes. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV from Maine to Alaska. She was a very loving, kind and caring woman and always wanted the best for her children. You would always catch her teaching family and friends how to make pierogis, something handed down from her mother. She is survived by two children, Nancy Dirgo of Sharpsburg, GA, and Michael Dirgo and his wife Danielle of Ellington, CT; her two grandchildren, Marie and Melody Dirgo, both of Colchester, CT; and her sister, Jennie Waterman of Rocky Hill, CT, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Dirgo; and brothers, Alexander Conashevick, Nicolas Conashevick; as well as her sisters, Vera Rashi, Helen Talbot, and Anna LaBella. Thank you to the Short Term Nursing staff at Autumn Lake Healthcare of Cromwell for the extraordinary care of Elizabeth. Elizabeth's family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24, from 10-11 AM at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM. Burial will take place at a later date.
