James E. Dirgo, 72, of Sharon, passed away Tuesday evening, January 6, 2026, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle.
Mr. Dirgo was born May 27, 1953, in Sharon, a son of the late George Dirgo and Pauline (Bergamashi) Dirgo Farkas. A 1971 graduate of Sharon High School, he also completed his associate degree in metallurgy from Penn State University, Shenango Valley Campus.
For many years, Jim worked as a metallurgist at Sharon Steel’s former Farrell plant, and later worked in a similar capacity for CCL Container, Hermitage.
Jim was of the Christian faith.
His beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Marjorie M. (Ciscell) Dirgo, whom he married September 10, 1986, survives at home.
Jim is also survived by two sons, Bradley Dirgo, Sharon, and Steven Dirgo, Kody, WY; a brother, Michael Dirgo; three sisters, Marilyn, Margaret, and Michelle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Anita; and an infant granddaughter.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside burial will take place privately.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
