Cherryville - Ms. Fannie Elizabeth Doty, 89, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Peak Resources in Shelby.
Elizabeth was born on May 28, 1935 in Cleveland County, NC a daughter of the late Garland Doty and Vassie Walker Doty. She was retired as a clerk from Doty's Men & Boys Shop in Cherryville. Elizabeth graduated from Lattimore High School and attended Howards Business College. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville and the Truth Seekers Sunday school class.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Doty; four brothers, James, Vail, Gene and Ward Doty; sisters-in-law, Frances Clarke, Mozelle Doty and Alma Doty and a nephew Mike Doty.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Marjorie Doty of Shelby; a nephew and three nieces.
The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Cherryville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Cherryville with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating.
Burial will follow the service in City Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 301 E. First Street, Cherryville, NC 28021 or to the Baptist Children's Home of North Carolina, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
