Elizabeth Eigenbrod Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hurley Funeral Home - Mason City on Mar. 18, 2025.
In Loving Memory Elizabeth "Ellen" Eigenbrod, September 3, 1958 - March 16, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Ellen" Eigenbrod, who left
us on March 16, 2025. She was 66 years old.
Ellen was born on September 3, 1958 in Charlottesville, Virginia and was the cherished
daughter of Bonnie and Ed Sandridge. She is survived by her husband, Michael Eigenbrod of
Mason City, Illinois, daughter, Elizabeth Sampson of Kemah, Texas, Son, John Eigenbrod, of
Lincoln, Illinois, and sister, Mary Dzuro of The Villages, Florida, who will always treasure her
memory.
Throughout her life, Ellen exemplified her values of kindness and faith, touching the lives of so
many. Ellen held strong in her faith until the end, completing the Walk to Emmaus in 1991. She
found joy in singing in the church choir, playing handbells in the church bell choir, crocheting,
reading and traveling with her husband, Michael Eigenbrod. Ellen was a member of the Mason
City United Methodist Church and was actively involved in church leadership and in the
Euterpians.
Ellen's greatest accomplishment was being the loving grandmother of Kaleb Eigenbrod (10) of
Lincoln, Illinois, Aiden Sampson (9) of Kemah, Texas, Kodi Eigenbrod (8) of Lincoln, Illinois and
Kolt Eigenbrod (4) of Lincoln, Illinois. Ellen loved playing board games, such as Yahtzee and
John Deere-oply with her grandbabies. She also loved cheering her grandkids on at their
various sporting, 4-H, and taekwondo events.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a funeral service will be held on March 19, 2025 at 10:30 am at the Mason City United Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until the time of service. Family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate and honor Ellen's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Siteman Cancer Center, MSC
1082-414-2555, 1 Brookings Drive., St. Louis, MO 63130 or online at
siteman.wustl.edu/tribute. Please indicate the gift is in memory of Ellen by writing a memo on
your check.
Ellen, you will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Rest in peace.
