Elizabeth Diane Foster, 64, of Hughesville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 17, 2025. Born on November 13, 1960, in Shelby, North Carolina, Diane was the cherished daughter of the late Ruffin "Billy" Smith and Patsy Joanne Philbeck. Diane was the heart of her family-a woman of unwavering faith, boundless love, and quiet strength. She was the devoted wife of 39 years to her lifelong soulmate, Gregory Allen Foster, whom she married on June 21, 1986, in Clinton, Maryland. Together, they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and shared purpose, raising their children and running a thriving livestock farm that reflected their deep connection to the land and family heritage. She was a proud and loving mother to Kimberly Mae Hedrick (Nathan) and Kristopher Allen Foster (Jenna), and a doting grandmother to Lily Grace, Lila Mae, and Lexi Rae Hedrick, and Jase Allen Foster. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Diane played a vital role in the family business, Marlboro Trading Post, first in Upper Marlboro and later in Aquasco. Her dedication and work ethic were instrumental in its success. She was also a faithful member of Hughesville Baptist Church, where her deep spirituality and commitment to service touched many lives. She is survived by her husband Greg; her children and grandchildren; her beloved in-laws, Jeanie and Eddie Foster; her siblings, Angela "Roxanne" Tripp, Gene Edward Hastings, and Ruffin Ronald Smith; her niece Brianna McCellan; her most special nephew Michael John Dawson (Desiree), whom she loved like a son; and great-nephews Bentley and Braxton Dawson. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Joey Rocklin Smith and Wayne Drew Smith, and her brother-in-law Allen Tripp. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Diane's life on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, 26325 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Pallbearers will be Kris Foster, Mike Dawson, Nathan Hedrick, Jud Talbert, Roy Duvall, and Mike Sparks. Honorary pallbearers include Jase Foster, Bentley Dawson, Braxton Dawson, Cowboy Harrod, and Gene Hastings. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who took such great care of Diane, including Diane's cousin Anita for her loving care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Diane's memory to Hughesville Baptist Church, 8505 Old Leonardtown Rd, Hughesville, MD 20637.
