Elizabeth Celia Garrett, 93, of Wildwood, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born May 2, 1932, in Lyndonville, Vermont to Herbert and Grace Magill.
Liz and Robert Littlewood settled in Orange, Massachusetts to raise their blended family. She was best known as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to a host of friends and family. Her door was always open, and she had a gift to make even strangers feel at home. She handled life with all its gains and losses with a steady hand that celebrated the highs and minimized the lows with a big family that was quite a challenge.
Throughout her life she enjoyed her time spent with family and friends on 4H trail rides, at her brother's horse pulls in Vermont, fairs, camping, snowmobiling in the northeast as well as square dancing and traveling. She loved selling Avon and meeting new people. After retirement with her husband Robert, she continued to travel and settled in sunny Deland, Florida. Robert passed away in 2000.
In 2007, while square dancing she met and married David Garrett, a wonderful man and addition to the family-with his two daughters Cristal Legault and Connie Upton. They continued to square dance and travel abroad, or with their motorhome. They liked vacations cruising with the family. She also liked watching the Celtics. She was always close to her two sisters Lillian (91) and Lottie (89). They and their three brothers long ago formed a team called "Magill Power".
She is survived by her nine children Diane Thomas, Lynn Dike, Dolores Porter, Merl Littlewood, Eddyce Sullivan, Teresa Robinson, Curt Littlewood, Shelly and Shari Littlewood; her sister, Lillian Comee; and her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. With all her grandchildren she was the Matriarch of a five generation loving family.
Elizabeth lived a long satisfying life and will be missed dearly. She will be remembered for all the times she kept things together as well as her strong faith in the hope for the promises to come.
Services will be held at the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 502 Urick Street, Fruitland Park, FL 34731.
Condolences may be sent to: 811 Michigan Street Wildwood Florida 34785.
