Elizabeth Hein (57) died at home in Durham, NC on August 18, 2025 from leukemia, an aftereffect of her bout with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2002. She devoted her life to caring for her two daughters, Katherine Hein and Emily Hein, and husband, Ted Hein.

Elizabeth graduated from the College of the Holy Cross and spent much of her time volunteering within her community. She was active in the Friends of the Library in Durham, NC and East Kingston, NH, was a leader in the PTAs of her daughters' schools, and active in supporting her children's interests. Although she wrote five books, had a small business, worked at Measurement Incorporated, and travelled the world with her husband, Elizabeth's favorite activity was quietly sitting at the edge of the ocean and staring at the horizon.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Ted Hein, daughters Katherine Hein and Emily Hein, and son-in-law, Elliot Warren. She leaves behind her parents, Anthony and Janet Trippi of Shrewsbury, MA; brothers Anthony Trippi and Frank Trippi; in-laws Carl and Mimi Hein of Winston-Salem, NC, eight brother and sister-in-laws, and ten nieces and nephews.

As per Elizabeth's wishes, there will be no service. The family will have a small memorial gathering at some point in the future.
