Elizabeth Dianne Hogue, born May 11, 1951, in Batesville, Mississippi, entered into eternal rest on September 26, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Columbus Perkins and Ona Arlin Perkins.
Dianne graduated from South Panola High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi. She later achieved a master’s degree from Mississippi State University and another master’s degree from the University of Mississippi.
Throughout her career, Dianne touched countless young lives through teaching in both Mississippi and Arkansas. She taught at the Nettleton School District, Westside School District, and the Jonesboro School District. Of all her roles, she often said that teaching reading at the Kindergarten Center was the most joyful and rewarding. In addition, she served as an Education Coordinator for Child and Youth in Jonesboro, where her passion for helping children thrive was evident to all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, 2:00 p.m., at Emerson Funeral Home, 1629 Nettleton Avenue, Jonesboro, Arkansas. Services will be conducted by John Miles. Visitation with the family will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date at Jonesboro Memorial Park.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David Hogue; her daughter, Jennifer Cude (husband Travis); her son, Ryan Runkel (wife Jennifer); and her stepsons, Brandon Hogue (wife Sadie) and Martin Hogue (wife Chandace). She leaves behind cherished grandchildren—Camryn Cude, Colin Cude, and River Runkel—as well as step-grandchildren Diana, Johnie, Crosby, Phoebe, and Murphy Hogue.
Dianne is also survived by her siblings: Peggy Waltman of Jackson, MS; Sammy Perkins of Southaven, MS; Wayne Perkins of Tupelo, MS; and Judy Daniels of Tupelo, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Bernard’s Cancer Center of Jonesboro, AR.
Arrangements are entrusted to Emerson Funeral Home.
