It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Nadine Hoza, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, who left us on August 25, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on April 8, 1980, in Mount Vernon, WA, to David Hoza and Della Ware.
Elizabeth attended Eagle Valley High School in Gypsum, Colorado where she obtained her high school diploma. She then moved to Nebraska to pursue her love for teaching at Hastings College. After graduating college, she decided to move to New Mexico and dedicate her career to teaching math, inspiring countless students. She taught at Rocinante and Farmington High School. Her enthusiasm for learning and her nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on all those fortunate enough to know her. Elizabeth was more than a teacher; she was a mentor and friend who changed lives with her support and encouragement. Elizabeth was very passionate about her family, her dogs and her faith. Liz recently completed her master’s degree from Concordia University in Minnesota. She was also a current member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Animal Shelter Foundation Inc.
She is preceded in death by her stepfather Louis “Corky” Ware, and her grandparents Albert and Mary Hoza and Frank and Pansy Williamson.
Elizabeth is survived by her parents David Hoza and Della Ware, brothers Matthew (Tracy) Hoza, Seth Hoza, Nathan (Amanda) Hoza, and Andrew (Morgan) Hoza, sister Sarah (Matthew) Hayes, nephews Josiah Hoza, Parker Hoza, Ezekiel Hoza, Benjamin Hoza, Waylon Hayes, Bodhi Hayes, and Stokley Hayes, and nieces Cora Hoza, Callie Hoza, Alexandria Hoza, Althea Hayes, and Ophelia Hayes.
