Elizabeth Kendrick

Elizabeth Kenrick passed away on March 20, 2026 at the age of 85. She is predeceased by her parents Willie and JimmieRuth; siblings Peter J. T. Simmons, Jessie James Gilmore, Jimmie Lee Simmons; and son Leroy Evans.

Born in Indianola, Mississippi and later graduating high school from Slaughter High School. Elizabeth met Isaac in 1967 and was married not soon after. She was a very savvy businesswoman not only having her own hair salon but also running a daycare and Kendrick's Groceries on Parsells avenue. If she was not found devoting herself to business ventures, she enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing. When she could not be outside, she loved cooking and listening to Tina Turner or gospel. She is survived by her husband Isaac Kendrick; daughter Patricia Ann (Rodney Taggert) Evans; sons Jermaine Rogers, Akeem Allen, Jarred Lowell; sister Viola Pugh; extended family Kenny Scott; and all her grand babies nieces and nephews; Kelvin Likely, Lavon Jones, Willie Gillmore III, Jessica Gilmore, Gabrielle Gilmore, Akeem Allen Jr, Milani Allen, Kai Allen, Jimmie Lee Jr., Ebony Simmons, Evion Bonnick, Antwone Evans, Robert Simms, Kadijah Simms, Patrice Evans, Lyricc Lowell, Love Lowell, Ramiah Gulley, Paul Gulley Jr., Alori Gulley, Richarde Taggert, Renee Evans, Kelvin Matthews and Legend Evans.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday April 2, 2026 at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services INC (3325 Winton Road South) from 10am-12pm. Immediately following the calling hours funeral mass will begin at 12pm. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery (1133 Mt Hope Ave)
