Elizabeth Schneider Kreider, 88, of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024. She was born to parents Mary Keaveny and Edward Schneider, on November 9, 1935 in Fremont, Michigan. She grew up in the countryside outside of Corning, NY and graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in history. Elizabeth was a member of Mortar Board, a national honor society that recognizes seniors for their achievement in scholarship, leadership and service. She later received an MA in French at Case Western Reserve, followed by a semester at Sorbonne University in Paris. Years later, she received another MA in Creative Writing at the University of Colorado. She taught French at Shaker Heights High School in Ohio and at Overland High School in Cherry Creek School district, in Colorado. Later in her career she taught English as a Second Language and Creative Writing at the University of Denver and Metropolitan State University, respectively. In addition to teaching she became a community organizer in the Park Hill neighborhood of Denver, receiving the Babbs community service award for her exceptional work there. She was passionate about nature and culture, traveling extensively throughout South and Central America, Africa, Europe and Asia. Elizabeth was married to the late Kent Kreider and is survived by her two children, Christopher Kreider and wife Amy Hayes and Sarah Kreider and husband Juan Ramon Quezada, and by her three grandchildren, Jyana, Pablo and Diego, and her sister-in-law, Joan Berardo. 

Her memorial service is scheduled for 10am on July 28th at 6301 Montview Boulevard, Denver, CO 80207.
