Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Linn, 97, of Zanesville died at 10:45 am Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Genesis Hospital.
Betty was born on March 25, 1927, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of Jesse Charles Patterson and Roma Allen Patterson.
Betty graduated from Zanesville "Lash" High School in 1945 and was admitted to the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. She graduated from the Bethesda Nursing School in 1948 as a registered nurse. She married William "Bill" Linn Jr. on March 13, 1949. Betty worked at Bethesda Hospital and later at Goodwill and the Willow Haven Nursing Home. Betty was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian church. She did volunteer work for the church, United Way and the YWCA. She loved to travel, read, solve crossword puzzles, and play cards. She was also a lover of dogs. She very much enjoyed retirement, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a good listener and could strike up a conversation with anyone.
She is survived by her son William Linn of Florida, daughters Mary Brown of Florida, Ann Linn and Janet Harden of Ohio. Grandchildren include Nicholas Harden of Ohio, Lindsey (Chris) Kurtz, Lauren (Jonathan) Szafran and Dean (Glori Reboyras} Brown of Florida. Great-grandchildren include Riley and Claire Szafran and Bradley Kurz, all of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Patterson Shrigley of Florida.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years Bill.
Per Betty's wishes, cremation has been chosen, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, is in charge of the arrangements.
