Elizabeth Ann Lively, 60, of Middletown, Delaware passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 23, 2025. Beth was born on September 25,1964 in New London, Connecticut.
She is survived by former husband David Lively and their adult child, as well as by her mother Betty Larue and Larry Brakefield, and her sister Brenda Kramer. Her greatest joy was being a mother.
She was loving and kind with great empathy for everyone she knew including friends, family, and animals (especially Sapphire, her dog, and her Missie, her cat).
Another of her joys was gardening and maintaining many beautiful plants throughout her house.
Beth achieved a Master of Education from Wheelock College in Massachusetts which allowed her to follow her passion to care for children with special needs.
She worked many years in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Delaware as a Special Education teacher, developing close relationships with many children and educators over the years. Her contributions to the Special Needs community will be sorely missed.
There will be an open visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 2nd followed by a time for sharing by family and friends at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE 19709.
In lieu of flowers, Beth requested donations be made to the ACLU, https://www.aclu.org/give/ways-to-give, the Cornelia de Lange Foundation https://www.cdlsusa.org/donate/, or Our Daily Bread https://www.ourdailybreadmot.com/copy-of-volunteer.
