Elizabeth “Lizzy” Ann Russell Dixon, 64, of Abita Springs, La. passed to her eternal rest in Christ at her home, May 17, 2025.
Born in New Orleans on September 20, 1960, Liz married Joseph Claud Dixon Jr. and raised 3 children.
Liz moved with her family from the Bucktown/Metairie area to reside and operate her own house cleaning service in the Covington-Mandeville area for the last 35 years.
Liz is survived by her daughter, Lena Ann Hooper (Greg), son Johnathan James Dixon; grandchildren: Reese Lacombe, Seth Hooper (Brooke), Jace Artieta, Braeden Dixon, Ashlyn Dixon, Gage Dixon, Saige Dixon, Brycen Dixon, and great-grandchildren Avalynn Lacombe and Xander Scruggs.
She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Brittany Dixon, brothers and sisters-in-law: Steve (Betty) Russell, Ricky (Eileen) Russell, and Linden “Lenny” (Donna) Russell, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son Joseph Dixon 3rd “JoeJoe”, her husband Joseph Dixon Jr., and her parents Mabel and Michael Russell.
Special “THANK YOU” to her friends and caregivers: Patricia Bordes, Linden “Lenny” Russell, Mary and Walter Livaudais (best neighbors on the planet), Nancy Rando, Missy & Dennis, Brittany Dixon, Lisa Morin, and Kayla Pierre.
Appreciation to ACG Agape Hospice nurses Haley, Brittany, Melissa and CNA Rose. She looked forward to each visit!
Thank you also to Christina at the University of Miami Brain Endowment Program, for her compassion, patience, and coordinated efforts to carry out Mom’s wishes to donate her brain for research, in the hopes that there will be a cure for Glioblastoma.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Lizzy's life in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Highway 437, Covington, LA 70435. On Saturday May 31, 2025. A visitatation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
