Elizabeth Ann Michel, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2025. Elizabeth "Beth" was born on September 10th, 1948. She was the second of nine children born to Edward and Barbara Cloutier.
She graduated from Lake Linden High School in 1966 and married her high school sweetheart Richard Michel on October 1, 1966, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lake Linden, Michigan. Not long after getting married Beth and Rich settled in Ontonagon, Michigan where they raised their family and became part of the community. Beth was a compassionate, caring person as demonstrated in her many years as a home health aide. She was always going the extra mile for the families that she served. She was a skilled seamstress who did a lot of sewing, alterations, and mending for her family and others. She enjoyed her gardens, reading, knitting, sewing, and time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking and loved sharing whatever she made with friends and neighbors. She loved being a part of Redeemer Free Lutheran Church in Ontonagon where she especially loved participating in the woman's Bible study. Because of her faith she was able to gracefully endure fifty years of multiple sclerosis.
Beth is survived by her children Jo (Mike) Kiiskila, Amy (Todd) Landuyt, and Jim (Zoe James) Michel; grandchildren Ashley Landuyt, Hannah (Ryan) Ormson, Katie Kiiskila, and Jack Kiiskila; great grandson Orion Ormson; brothers and sisters Mary (Mike) Luce, Steve (Connie) Cloutier, Jeanne (John) Diebel, Mark Cloutier, Sarah (David DePaul) Cloutier, Eddie (Renee) Cloutier, and Charlie Cloutier; sisters in law Jane Cloutier, Sandy Cloutier, and Dotti Michel. She was preceded in death by her husband Rich, her parents, her brother Jim, and sister-in-law Andrea Cloutier.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 7th at 11:00am with visitation starting at 10:00am at Redeemer Free Lutheran Church in Ontonagon.
We would like to thank the staff at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, Wisconsin for the wonderful care and friendship they gave Beth in the four years that she was a resident there.

No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise, I will rise"
