Elizabeth Mishalko Obituary

Elizabeth Mishalko, born May 29, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, in Warren, Michigan. She was 87 years old.
Elizabeth is lovingly remembered by her son, Clifford Mishalko, Jr., her granddaughters, Elizabeth "Lilli" Mishalko and Joanna Mishalko, and her daughter-in-law, Gillian Mishalko. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Mishalko, Sr.
In her professional life, Elizabeth dedicated many years to N.A. Woodworth Co., where she was a long-time and valued employee. Her commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside her.
Elizabeth, "Grandma Booty" to her granddaughters (toddler speak for "grandma-with-a-cat-named-Boots"), was most proud to be a mother and grandmother. She regularly visited her son and family in San Francisco, CA. Grandma Booty never let the geographical distance create any barriers to being fully involved and aware of the daily activities and goings on of her two cherished granddaughters. Come birthdays, Christmas and various other opportunities, Elizabeth traveled to CA with beautifully folded outfits in all available colors, and every size on either side of perfect, just to be sure. Even the family pets, first Rudy the Havanese followed by the current rescue, Beau, treated her to overjoyed welcomes of frenzied tail wagging and overjoyed puppy kisses on every visit. At home, Elizabeth shared her immense love and devotion to her own beloved fur babies: years past with Beau, a retriever Cliff Jr. brought home from college and more recently, Boots, her forever-loved rescue kitty. To be Elizabeth's pet was to live the life of adored royalty and that of lavish feasts, prepared round the clock, as desired.
Elizabeth's warmth extended well beyond her immediate family. She was deeply connected to her neighbors and their children, who lovingly called her "Grandma Liz." She treated them as her own, celebrating their milestones, cheering them on, and opening her heart and home to them. To many, she was not just a neighbor but family.
Elizabeth also shared many years with her companion and roommate Paul, whose steadfast presence brought her joy and comfort.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on October 18, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Blase Catholic Church, 12151 15 Mile Road. Elizabeth will lie instate at church from 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Elizabeth's honor.
