Betty Elizabeth Elaine Engel Morris departed this life on October 7, 2025, when she was welcomed into the loving arms of her savior, the Lord Jesus.
Born in Roswell on October 14, 1952, Betty was a devoted family member, a cherished member of several Christian churches in Roswell, and a loyal friend to many.
Betty will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and lively spirit. Throughout her life, Betty connected to others with her bright, winning smile. She loved her pets - cats and dogs alike.
Betty was a product of Roswell public school, a 1970 graduate of Roswell High. She also graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales with a bachelor's degree in accounting. After high school, she resided a few years in Lubbock, Texas.
Betty is survived by her beloved spouse Jerry Morris of Roswell, step-son Gary and Svetlana Morris of Lake Arthur, step-daughter Melinda and Colin Robson of Hagerman, NM, and step-daughter Trisha and Trent Trollinger of Clovis, NM, brother David Engle of Stillwater, Oklahoma, nieces Jane Roark of Roswell and Laurie Duty of Greeley, Colorado; nephews Ed Small of Albuquerque and Jeff Engle of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Obera Engle and her sister Barbara of Roswell and Barbara's husband Douglas B. Small.
A memorial will be held at Peachtree Village, Wednesday, October 15th at 1:30 pm. All who knew and loved Betty are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Roswell Humane Society Kennels, reflecting Betty's lifelong love of animals.
