Elizabeth Anne Navarro, age 92, of Woburn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 26, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones. "Liz " as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Navarro.
Elizabeth was born on August 9, 1932, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Olive Guillotte. Born and raised for the early part of her life in a log cabin she grew to love the cold. As a teenager Liz` family moved to Chestnut Hill where she graduated from Chestnut Hill High school. Part of her charm was the fact that she would never complain, especially about the New England cold winters.
Liz was an incredible homemaker, mother to six children, and wife - always willing to lay down her life for her family. Liz was the epitome of class, even on the most casual of days she would be dressed impeccably. As she got older her style grew to be quite impressive. Refinishing furniture and redecorating her home- her eye for style grew so much so that it became the running joke how much it aggravated her husband. Her talents rubbed off on her four daughters who moved on to design and create.
Sadly, Liz was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband Joseph Navarro of 52 years, brother Richard Guillotte, and sister Maureen McLaughlin.
Liz is survived by her six children; Peter Navarro of Woburn, MA, Deborah Musto and her husband John Musto of Baltimore, MD, Nancy Young, of Wilmington, MA, Patricia Angelo and her husband Robert Angelo of Woburn, MA, Joseph Navarro and his wife Donna Navarro of West Boylston, MA, Maureen Pagliuca of Woburn, MA and loving sister-in-law Dorothy Geary of Woburn, MA.
Liz was also the picture of health; always pushing vegetables on you, always opting to walk or take in the glory of nature. One of her most loved activities was walking along the Winchester Fells with her beloved dog "Winnie". Liz was a lady through and through, full of class and just the right amount of sass. She always made sure to remind you not to put your elbows on the table and to be polite. Her cooking could cure anything. So many fond memories surround her dining room table. All filled with laughter, glasses clinking, wine pours, and smells that could come from a restaurant. Life with Liz was a joy and as she aged her love for her family only grew. She surrounded herself with her loving children, grandchildren, and many great grandchildren Giving love, offering advice, and always throwing in a quick-witted comment.
Liz, known as Nana, is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and their spouses; Patrick Musto, John Musto, Elizabeth Laflamme, Jack Young, Ashley Burvill, Mathew Young, Ryan Navarro, Michelle Angelo, Joseph Angelo, Anna Fitch, Evan Pagliuca, Ava Pagliuca, and 17 great grandchildren.
Life might be simpler if we lived the way Liz did. No company allowed over before 10am and knowing most things can be solved over a hot cup of tea and an old-fashioned donut, as long as your elbows aren`t on the table. We will miss you so much Mom and Nana.
In keeping with Liz's wishes funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Service of Woburn.
