Troy – Liz O'Connor, 29, died Friday, September 27, 2024, at Samaritan Hospital.
Born in Suffern, NY, Liz was the daughter of Sharyn, Kevin Fusco, and Brian O'Connor. She grew up in Minerva, graduated from Mohonasen High School, studied Culinary Arts at Schenectady County Community College and was most recently a QA Technician for Regeneron in Rensselaer.
Liz was a member of the Troy Hellions Roller Derby League, Troy Dance Studio, and performed adult gymnastics. She was an ambitious and beautiful young woman, loving sister, passionate friend, and dedicated daughter who loved life and enjoyed everything about downtown Troy.
In addition to her parents, Liz is survived by her siblings, JoJo Fusco, Christopher O'Connor, Ashley O'Connor (Eric Palmer), AJ Fusco (Jenn Saenz); many cousins; nieces and nephews; her special niece, Lainey; many friends; and her dear friend, Matt Hofnagel.
Relatives and friends may join our family in remembrance at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy, Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM, with a brief service after 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Liz's memory to the Capital Roots 594 River St Troy, NY 12180. I worked with Liz at Regeneron. It was a challenge starting work at such a big company, having only ever worked at smaller ones. Liz always made me feel welcome and helped me a lot through that time. She was a bright, cheerful, hardworking person and will be dearly missed.
