Elizabeth Paugh, 90, of Swanton died on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at her home. Born on March 19, 1932, in Vindex, she was the daughter of the late George and Juanita (Warnick) Tichinel.
She was a member of the Assemblies of God and enjoyed reading the Bible, joining in Bible study and teaching the young people at church. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling to Tennessee and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Linda June and husband Tom of Baltimore, Mary Lou Karwacki and husband Jim of Baltimore, Margie Tasker and husband Mike of Swanton, Melvin Paugh of WV, Lewis Paugh and wife Rhonda of Baltimore, and Melody Southern and husband Jim of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer Gogolinski and husband Mike, Amy Karwacki, Steven June, all of Baltimore, Brian Byrd and wife Heather, Michael Byrd and fiancee Crystal, all of Swanton, Keith Paugh of Baltimore, Matthew June of WA, Winter Sanford of Westernport, Lewis Paugh Jr. and wife Sara of Baltimore, and Justin Southern; eighteen great grandchildren; brothers, Darrrell Tichinel and wife Phyllis of WV, George Tichinel and wife Virginia of Swanton; sisters, Mariam Murray and husband George of GA, Louise Conklyn and husband Ezra of Swanton, Doris Skipper and husband Rich of Swanton and Ruby Tichinel of Westernport; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three and a half years, Melvin L. Paugh; grandsons, Dylan Paugh and Brandon Southern; sisters, Naomi Tichinel, Genieve Davis, Wanda Barnes; and a brother, David.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A. 710 Church Street, Kitzmiller on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM and Friday, April 15, 2022 10 to 11 AM at Walnut Bottom Assembly of God, 1014 Walnut Bottom Rd, Swanton, at which time the funeral service will be held with her nephew George "Buddy" Tichinel officiating. Interment will follow in the Turner Cemetery. The family would ask if you are attending the service on Friday, to please wear something RED because it was her favorite color. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550. The family would like to thank Hospice of Garrett County for the wonderful care their mother received, especially from Lori and JoAnna.
