Elizabeth Marie Rokey, 86, passed away on her terms on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Sabetha Community Hospital in Sabetha, Kansas.
Marie was born on December 16, 1938, to Robert F. and Goldie Mae (Birch) Munson in Humboldt, Nebraska. She married Larry V. Rokey on May 24, 1959, in Sabetha, and they had four children.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; and her siblings, Robert, Donald, and Darlene.
Marie will forever be loved and remembered by her three sons, Larry D. Rokey, Tracy Rokey, and Gary (Betty) Rokey, all of Sabetha; her daughter, Rebecca Sowders of Topeka, Kansas; her six grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Katherine Sowders, Wade (Josh), Chris (Katie), and Nichole (Conrad) Castillo; her four great-grandsons, Christopher and Johnathan Sowders, and her two special little guys, Jason and Hudson Rokey; her sister-in-law, Mae Munson, with whom she shares a special bond; and her many nieces and nephews.
As a family, we are still not willing to disobey Marie. So, we have honored Marie's request to be cremated without a memorial service. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Sabetha Cemetery in Sabetha. Popkess Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
