Elizabeth Reed Evans Shields, 87, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky with her children by her side. She was born December 28, 1937, in Scottsville, KY to the late Willie Freeman Evans and Annie Pearl Reynolds Evans. She married Donald Shields on August 14, 1954, and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2000. Elizabeth worked at Washington Overall Manufacturing and later retired from General Electric. She was saved at the age of 12 and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a member until her marriage, at which time she moved her membership to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by 1 son: Timothy Shields, Scottsville, KY;
2 daughters: Donna Todd, Scottsville, KY and Nancy Norris and husband, Freddy, Summer Shade, KY;
7 grandchildren: Matt Stewart, Andy Stewart (Amber) and Chad Todd (Erica), all of Scottsville, KY; Vicky Shields and Becky Littrell (Jared), all of Portland, TN; Chelsey Steinsberger (Zac), Clarksville, TN and Josh Shields, Huntsville, AL;
8 great grandchildren: Kile Wilson, Wyatt Todd, Jase Todd, Andrew Stewart, Izzy Stewart, Sully Steinsberger, Stevie Steinsberger and Josiah Littrell.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Willie Reynolds Evans; two infant brothers; a son-in-law: Neal Todd and daughter-in-law: Tammy Shields.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Wilson and Bro. Chad Harston officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
