Age 86, of Wyoming, passed away on October 5, 2024 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
She was born on June 3, 1938 in Warsaw, NY to the late Lars and Doris Powers Tyler. Betty married her husband, Albert Strathearn on April 26, 1958. She worked at Wyoming County Community Hospital as a ward clerk for twenty-nine years.
Betty enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her husband, Albert Strathearn, who passed away on October 17, 2020. She is also predeceased by her brother, Robert Tyler, her sister, Georgia Martin, her daughter-in-law, Judy Strathearn, her brothers-in-law, Ron Grutzner and Bob Martin, and a great grandchild, Amelia Elizabeth Meyer.
Betty is survived by her children, Michael (Patricia) Strathearn of Wyoming, Dennis (Barb) Strathearn of Wyoming, Laurie (Jack) Keough of Warsaw, Catherine (Guye) Smith of Lima, Sarah (Paul) Meyer of Warsaw; sister, Jean Grutzner of Warsaw; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Tyler of Keuka Lake and Sue Strathearn; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, October, 9th 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Robinson And Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Betty’s funeral service will be held Thursday, October 10th at 10 AM at Robinson And Hackemer Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Wyoming Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wyoming Hook & Ladder, PO Box 36, Wyoming, NY 14591.
