Elizabeth Testa Obituary

Elizabeth "Liz" Testa, of Farmington Hills, passed unexpectedly into eternal life at her home on Monday morning, November 17, 2025. Liz was born on January 22, 1987, at Providence Hospital in Southfield to her devoted parents, Tracy and Henry Testa, who cherished her from the moment she arrived.

Liz grew up in Farmington Hills, attended Mercy High School and graduated from Harrison High School in 2005. Liz's gifts-in both the classroom and on the field-were unmistakable. A true student-athlete, Liz excelled in travel soccer, field hockey, softball, basketball, and track and field. She was a standout field hockey player, representing Mercy High School in a prestigious tournament in California and earning admiration for her natural talent, determination, and athletic spirit.

Liz's gifts extended far beyond athletics. She was exceptionally bright, earning an academic scholarship to Oakland University thanks to her outstanding ACT score and her remarkable aptitude for English. There, she earned her bachelor's degree in English, nurturing a passion for language, literature, and the written word that had been with her since childhood. Liz was an avid reader-especially of the classics-and a gifted writer and artist who won awards for both. Her creativity, intelligence, and love of learning were defining qualities of her life.

This past summer, Liz faced the immense challenge of thyroid cancer with courage, grace, and quiet strength. She endured difficult treatments and overcame obstacles with the fierce determination that had always been a part of her. Throughout it all, a great motivation was her beloved nine-year-old son, Lennon. Liz adored him and cherished every moment they spent together-sharing meals, reading stories, laughing, talking, and simply being close.

Liz found comfort in life's simple pleasures-especially good food, Italian dishes, and seafood, which she loved to enjoy with family. She worked hard to stay healthy, to live fully, and to be present for the people she loved. She was creative, intelligent, athletic, tender-hearted, and uniquely herself. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories.

Her family takes great consolation knowing that Liz is now safely home with God in heaven, held in His warm and loving embrace, healed and at peace.

Liz will be deeply missed by her parents Tracy and Henry, her son, Lennon, and siblings, Alexander and Alisha. Sadly, Liz was preceded in death by a brother, Dustin "Duz" on April 22, 2013. Additionally, she will be missed by all of her aunts, uncles and cousins.

Liz's funeral mass will be celebrated Monday morning, November 24, at 10:00 am, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Road, Farmington. The Testa family will receive guests at church beginning at 9:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are kindly suggested to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish.
