Elizabeth "Lizzie" Thomas

Mrs. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Horn Thomas, age 89, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away Sunday (January 25, 2026) in a Johnson City, Tennessee hospital. Born January 21, 1937 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Walter Fleming and Sarah Rebecca Steele Horn. She had spent her early life in the Buchanan County area, before moving to Johnson City in 2004. She was of the Pentecostal faith and loved listening to Gospel music. She enjoyed playing Rummy and working word puzzles, but most of all spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Thomas, one grandson, Timothy Thomas, and five siblings, Dorothy Brown, Balford Horn, Rachel Sproles, Betty Horn, and infant, Mertie Mae Horn.

Survivors include three children, Donald Ray Thomas and wife, Dreama, Linda Sue Thomas Raines and husband, Robert, and Bobby Dean Thomas and wife, Serena Blankenship; one brother, Lawrence Horn; five grandchildren, Shanna Raines, Marsha Hay, Jonathan Thomas, Ellie Thomas, and Noah Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Ezra Whited, Brooklyn Hay, and Lennox Aaron-Raines; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Kirby Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends after 5:30 PM Wednesday, where an evening song service will be conducted at 6:30 PM.
