Elizabeth “Libby” Ann Dale Glaeser Trussell went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2025 at the age of 86. Elizabeth was born to Loyd Franklin Dale and Annie Foy Jaggers on December 21, 1938 in Dimple, Texas. While in Dimple, Libby learned to shoot a gun and could hit a squirrel on the run at a young age. She graduated from Dimple High School where she played on the girl’s basketball team (she was their second highest scorer) and wrote for the school paper.
She attended Abilene Christian University where she met then married her first husband and went on to have two sons. When her boys were both in school, Libby decided to go back to school, as well, and she attained her bachelors in history and a master degrees in biology. She went on to teach in the sciences for many years in various school districts in Texas until her retirement. She loved to travel, play golf, and ride her horse with her good friends in Plainview and Pampa, Texas.
In 2004, Libby met and married Travis Trussell in Amarillo. The two enjoyed working at a wildlife rehab in Amarillo and as Texas Master Naturalists. After a few years, the two decided to move to Clarksville where they were members at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ.
In 2014, Travis passed away and Libby moved to the Midlothian, Texas area. In Midlothian, Libby worshipped at the Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie where she made many close friends. She loved to play “42” on Fridays and enjoyed making it to the “head” table. She also enjoyed painting and loved to go on painting weekends with her friends.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Loyd. She is survived by her two sons, Gene Glaeser, Jr. (Kaye) and Alan Glaeser (Susan); her grandchildren, Amber Maenius (Brandon), Jordan Glaeser (Addison), Derek Glaeser (Milli), Kyle Glaeser (Mariclaire), and Jaclyn Glaeser (Jaime Piedra); along with her eight great-grandchildren, Ethan, Eva, Emmy, Halston, Henley, Hendrix, River, and Everrett; and several close friends and relatives.
A celebration of life will be July 18, 2025 at Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie at 10:00 a.m.
