RUMNEY---Elizabeth "Betty" Wheet passed away at 3/25/2025 at the young age of 101.
Betty was born a daughter to Marion (Learned) Mansfield in Andover, ME, but shortly thereafter she moved to the Bronx at the age of 3. She went on the marry William Eddy in Greenwich, CT before making Rumney, NH her home in the early 1950's. In her new home state of NH, she met and married her second husband, Kenneth "Ken" Wheet.
Betty worked many jobs throughout her life, but her most memorable was her last job when she was 80 years of age to 88 years of age working for the Forest Service. Here she made many
lifetime friends.
Betty learned the love of travel later in life and was able to see places she could have only imagined. If you were to ask her if she wanted to go to a casino, she would begin to gather up her good luck charms to bring with her. Betty was the holder of The Boston Cane award in Rumney awarded to her in March of 2022. This award is given to the oldest resident in the town, which she held until her death.
Mrs. Wheet is survived by her daughters Cindy Chickering and her husband Philip of Alexandria NH, and Brenda Saucier and her husband Kenny of Lunenberg, MA her sons Kevin Wheet of Rumney, NH and Richard Eddy of Concord, NH, three grandchildren, and her beloved kitty cat, Olive.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ken Wheet, her daughter Linda Scheelen, her granddaughter Andrea Ficocello, and her sisters Vera Colligan, Edith Lite, June Woodman and Arene Mansfield.

There will not be a viewing or services as per Betty's wishes. Burial of her ashes will be held at the convenience of the family in the Pleasant View Cemetery, W. Rumney, NH
