Ella Mai Dexter, 88, of D’Iberville, MS passed away Monday, July 15, 2024. Ella was born in Brookhaven, MS on October 20, 1935 to Willie N. and Myrtis Durr.
Ella attended school in Lincoln County, MS. After school, she began her career in real estate. She was also a victims’ advocate for the Mobile County sheriff’s department, before becoming a homemaker. Ella enjoyed a very active social life and was an avid antique collector and purveyor.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie N. and Myrtis Durr; husband, William “Bill” Dexter; children, Terry M. Case and Genyth Ann Case; and siblings, Arlene Marler and Polly McCall.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Torey K. Case, Christine (Buck) Pettus, Aaron J. (Misty) Case, and Jessica L. (Ben) Stewart; great-grandchildren, Andrew Rushing, Matthew and Bethany Upton, and Everett C. and Ellis W. Stewart; sister, Thelma Waldrop; and many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
