Ms. Oxendine was born in Robeson County on December 21, 1948, to the late Carrie Mae Oxendine.
She is preceded in death by her mother Carrie Mae Oxendine and brother Freddie Ray Oxendine and a special aunt Edna Mitchell.
Ms. Oxendine leaves behind two sons Anthony Chavis (Amy) of Cherry Grove, SC and Elliott L. Strickland (Phebe) of Pembroke, NC.Four brothers Stacy Oxendine (Denver, NC), JD Oxendine (Matthews, NC), Jerry Oxendine (Fairmont, NC), Billy D. Oxendine (Rowland, NC) and two sisters Dillie Ann Chavis (Maxton, NC), and Sarah L Chavis (Live Oak, Fl). Four grandchildren: Dakota, Bladen, Dawson, and Elysha, one great-grandchild: Harper, and a great-grandchild due any time: Branlon. A special friend, Don Sampson (Rowland, NC) and a host of family and friends.

A special thanks to Linda, Carnelious, Gail, Kenny, Don, James, Alice, Kate, Ilene and others that always came to lend a helping hand to help momma.
