Ella Maeve Pippin

Ella Maeve Pippin of Felton, DE passed on to heaven in the arms of her parents in the butterfly garden at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital on the evening of Wednesday September 3, 2025. She was six days old. Before birth Ella was diagnosed with a rare kidney disorder in which babies typically do not survive for more than a few minutes outside the protection of their mother's womb. Ella was a fighter and came into the world earlier than expected on Thursday August 28, 2025, kicking and screaming the best she could. She was a feisty newborn. Despite additional setbacks after birth, Ella continued to fight and fight hard, defying the odds against her day after day, even to the surprise of her doctors and nurses. Ella never gave up fighting but eventually the burden of the challenges cast upon her overcame her.

In her short time with us, in the womb or in the world, Ella enjoyed listening to Bluey music with her sister, being read to, hearing her daddy's voice, and when mommy ate key lime pie ice cream. Her pretty blue eyes and smiles brought such joy and her will to live was inspiring.

Ella is preceded in death by siblings Conall and Aran. She will forever be remembered and loved by her mom and dad, Nicola and Justin Pippin, sister Éabha, and numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles and many other family and friends.

A heartfelt special thanks to the staff at Cincinnati Children's Hospital's Fetal Care, Maternity, and NICU teams. Unlike the hospitals closer to home, you always believed Ella deserved a chance at life, never said can't, and cheered her on every step of the way. You are all miracle workers. Also, to the Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House for being a home away from home to allow people to have hope.

A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, Delaware where family and friends may come to celebrate Ella from 4:00 p.m. until service time.

A sponsorship will be made in Ella's name to the Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House and contributions may be added to that in lieu of flowers if so desired by visiting www.rmhcincinnati.org.
