Ella Stroppel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by William F. Hogan Funeral Home on Feb. 19, 2024.
Ella May "Mae" Stroppel passed away on February 6, 2024, at her home in Highland Falls, NY. She was 89 years old. The daughter of the late Brooksie Odell (Pell) and Aldy "Aldie" Lee Wilson, she was born on May 2, 1934 in Westfield, NC.
Ella was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her large family. Next to serving her Lord and doting on her family, her biggest love was working in her award-winning yard. She loved songbirds, especially Cardinals & Bluebirds, as well as singing her favorite old-time gospel hymns to all who would listen! She was known all over Highland Falls for her Southern hospitality and her sweet iced tea. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Highland Falls, and the West Point Post Chapel.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Max H. Stroppel, Jr. (Brenda), of Cornwall, NY; Debra McCormack Graziano of Nyack, NY; Terrie Hoelscher (Steve), of Powell, TN; Rhonda Flanagan (Tom), of Kingsland, GA; and Scott Stroppel (Shannon), of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her brother, Roy Lee Wilson, of Spokane, WA; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Ella was predeceased by her loving husband, Max H. Stroppel, and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY. A Memorial Service or Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.

So late in finding out about her death. Loved Ellie so much. While we were at West Point we got to know Max and Ellie through Grace Baptist Church and what a couple. They were so hospitable to everyone they met and she always talked to everyone about Jesus. Glad to be assured that we will meet them both again someday.
