Ella B. Wilson Gibbs

Ella B. Wilson Gibbs, age 87, of Erie, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022 at AHN St. Vincent's.
She was born in Erie on January 19, 1935, a daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret Frazier Wilson.
Ella graduated from Academy High School in 1951 and earned her licensed Practical Nursing degree from the Erie School District.
She was the Housing Manager for the Erie Housing Authority for 30 years, retiring in 1995. From 1995 until 2003 Ella was the Office Manager for District Magistrate Paul G. Urbaniak. Ella had also worked as an LPN for St. Vincent Hospital and the Visiting Nurses Association.
Ella attended Erie Clown College and spread much joy throughout the community with her many clown skills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Gibbs; a grandson, Ricky Gibbs, Jr.; a granddaughter, Felicia Gibbs Henderson; and her siblings, Patrick Wilson and Patricia Howard.
Ella is survived by a daughter, Paula M. McLaurin; two sons, Dana Gibbs and his wife Rose Ross and Luther Gibbs and his wife The Rev. Kathy Gibbs, all of Erie. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Downtown, 602 West 10th Street, on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Ella's life at 4 p.m. with her daughter-in-law, The Elder Mary Kathy Gibbs of First Good Samaritan A.M.E. Zion Church, officiating. Private inurnment at Lakeside Cemetery.
