Ella M. Wisniewski (Gabel) passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. She was born on January 4, 1932, to Anton and Catherine (Pflug) Gabel, in Chicago, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ella will be held at 11AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church - 3200 Plover Rd. Plover, WI. Rev. Juan Pedro Roblez Baltazar will officiate. Friends and family may gather to share memories from 10AM until the time of services on Saturday at the church. Burial will be held at the parish cemetery.
She learned to play the bass drum in her high school band and played into adulthood for various community bands. She was a member of the 3rd Order of Servites. After high school, she was employed as a secretary by Johnson & Johnson until her marriage to Raymond Wisniewski on June 24, 1956. He passed away on December 20, 2013. Hines VA Hospital also employed her until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, sewing, knitting socks, and crocheting afghans for her family.
She is survived by her children Renee (Jim), Janet (the late Leon), Raymond (Renate), Robert (Denise), Barbara (Jeff), Denise (John), Diane, Helen, Michael (Gail), 23 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, her sisters Catherine (Simon), Helen and sister-in-law Marianne.
She was predeceased by her husband, sons-in-law Jim, and Leon, daughter-in-law Martha, and her parents and siblings Anton, Anna Mae, William, and Philip, brother-in-law John, and sisters-in-law Helen and Tanny.
