Ellen Grace Alwine

Ellen Alwine, in her 83rd year, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Alwine for 56 years. Loving mother of four daughters, Tammy Howard (Ben), Rose Lang (William), Joanne Alwine and Amy Alwine (Keivan). She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Dustin, Sarah, Cali, Keilian and Aaron. Two great-grandchildren, Keith and Brooke Ellen. She is predeceased by her siblings Bertha, Harry S., Richard, William, Kenneth, Gladys, and June.
Ellen was born in Dauphin County to the late Harry R. Gipe and Florence (Stoudt) on November 17, 1940. She retired from the Hershey Chocolate Factory after 30+ years. Ellen enjoyed her role as Girl Scout/Brownie Leader. She belonged to several antique auto car clubs and travelling globally with her husband.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29 at 11AM at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St, Palmyra, PA 17078. A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow the service at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
