Ellen Joy Emmitt, 71, of Delavan, WI passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
Ellen was born on December 20, 1953, to the late Kenneth and Dorys (Tifft) Roenneburg. She married Michael Emmitt on June 22, 1972, he preceded her in death at a very young age.
Ellen graduated from Madison West High School, being a Madison local, she decided to continue her education at the University of Madison. She first attended for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education followed by a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
She loved music, art, traveling, and living life to the fullest. Ellen was a very active person in her community, and with her love of music, she always volunteered at the Delavan Bandshell. She truly did love and support her community of Delavan.
We will always remember her love and support for family, strong-will, stubbornness, and determined personality for years to come.
Ellen is survived by her daughter Michelle (Matthew) Weibye; grandchildren Brianna, Shaun (Courtney), Zachery (Deanna), Paige (Nick); and great-grandchildren Carsen, Calla, Blake, Emersyn, Zoey, Cashton, Lennox, Paxton, and Foster. She is also survived by sister Dianne; nieces Donna and Tammy; nephews Joseph and Kenneth, other relatives and Wooded Hills Church friends. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Pam.
A celebration of Ellen's life will be held in the early Summer months. The family will contact all of her close friends.
In the words of Ellen, "Live each day to the fullest, the best that you possibly can!"

This is a precious memory of a fun time we had in a talent show at Wooded Hills Church. We made up words to the Sister song from White Christmas.

(Wait for two Intros)
Sisters! Sisters!
There were never such devoted sisters
Never have to ask us twice to serve
No sir!
Who's our leader?..... Keep your eyes on her!
Caring (dancing in a circle) Sharing
Even all the things that we are wearing
When we get a call to help out
Gue' - ess what?
We work together so we don't get in a rut

(Susie) I like to landscape
(Ellen) And I like to decorate
(Mary) And prayer is important to meeeeee
(Kimmie) I count your tithes
(Carol) And I organize
(Sara) And I serve our God with gleeeeee

Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing can come between us
Many things have challenged us
But we don't really care
Lord help us sisters
To heal all of our blisters
And Lord help us sisters
To know what we have is rare
(repeat)

Ellen was an usher in our wedding and a nursing colleague at Meriter. She was lively and so much fun! I am sorry we lost touch. I pray all family and friends will experience peace in the coming days.
