Ellen Benson Henrikson, 81, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, September 28, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 6, 1944, in Manhattan, New York, to the late Leonard and Edith Werner Benson, and was the wife to Neil Louis Henrikson who survives.
Ellen had a remarkable career as a middle school teacher with the Nottingham, New Hampshire School District, where she inspired countless students with her passion for teaching and her unwavering commitment to their success. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the classroom as she embraced the role of a homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for her family.
With a strong foundation in her Jewish faith, Ellen's values and beliefs guided her throughout her life, instilling a sense of love and community in all who knew her. She cherished reading, traveling and was an PADI Certified Diver who often found joy in exploring new places and immersing herself in different cultures. Above all, Ellen treasured the time spent with her family, who were the center of her world.
Ellen leaves behind her loving husband of thirty-three years, Neil Louis Henrikson, along with her children, Jennifer Schartz, Emily Benson, Eric Henrikson and his wife Katherine, Mark Henrikson and Neil Henrikson. She was a proud grandmother to Megan McGann, Tabatha Walsh, Carmella Henrikson, Sean Henrikson, and Joshua Henrikson; and a great-grandmother to Thomas and Emma.
Ellen's legacy of love, education, and family will forever be remembered by all those whose lives she touched.
