Gary Ray Henrikson, 74, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025. Gary was born on December 14, 1950, in Springfield, Illinois, to Robert and Lorene Henrikson.

He proudly served in the United States Navy for 22½ years, retiring on April 1, 1995. After his military service, Gary worked for and later retired from Home Depot.

Gary was a man of deep faith. He was a longtime member of Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Illinois, where he served as both a Deacon and an Elder. After relocating to Texas, he became a devoted member and Deacon at Gateway United Baptist Church in Denton.

Family meant everything to Gary. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he loved playing cards with friends, fishing, and woodworking. Always willing to lend a hand, Gary was known as someone you could count on whenever you needed help.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Donna, of Denton, Texas; his daughters, Cindy Curren of Walnut Springs, Texas, and Dawn Whitaker (Brett) of Boyd, Texas; five grandchildren: Abby (Ben), Ryan (Sydney), Sarah, Briar, and Danika; and five great-grandchildren: James, Allison, Connor, Jaxon, and Mackenzie. He is survived by his sister Debbie Krick of Springfield, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lorene Henrikson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gateway United Baptist Church in memory of Gary Henrikson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 8, 2025 at Gateway United Baptist Church, 2401 N. Bell Ave, Denton. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the service begins. Interment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
